Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential clinical support to our physicians and other healthcare professionals, ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering high-quality care to our patients. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for a range of clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care, including rooming patients, managing in-basket messages, handling prior authorizations, assisting with immunizations, and coordinating referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rooming Patients: Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, update medical histories, and assist providers during exams.
  • In-Basket Management: Monitor and prioritize patient messages in EPIC, respond to inquiries, and coordinate follow-ups.
  • Prior Authorizations: Assist with submitting and tracking insurance authorizations for medications, procedures, and tests.
  • Immunizations: Administer vaccines, document immunization records, and educate patients on vaccination schedules.
  • Referrals: Coordinate and track patient referrals to specialists, ensuring follow-up and accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: WA MA-C (Washington State Medical Assistant - Certified).
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • EPIC Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of the EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system to manage patient documentation, scheduling, and communication.

Soft Skills:

Dependability: Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Friendly and Compassionate: Ability to engage with patients in a warm, respectful, and compassionate manner.
