Position: Medical Assistant

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule:

  • Family Medicine: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
  • Cardiology: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine and Cardiology teams. You will be responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care, managing charts, and ensuring efficient patient flow. You will perform delegated medical tasks and may also handle clerical duties. Familiarity with electronic systems as standard operating procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Gather and document patient history and chief complaints.
  2. Prepare patients for examinations and obtain necessary testing based on guidelines.
  3. Conduct routine office testing such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, vision and hearing screening, pulmonary function testing, and vital signs monitoring.
  4. Assist providers with procedures and minor surgical operations.
  5. Collect patient specimens for diagnostic tests, including cultures from various sites.
  6. Administer and document injections and medications.
  7. Clarify patient instructions regarding diagnostic test preparations and medication administration.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of medical assisting and medical office experience.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant certification required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Skills: Demonstrated skill in venipuncture; CPR certification required.

Must-Have Skills:

  • CMA or RMA certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with EPIC.
  • Experience with injections and EKGs.
