Job description

Internal Medicine Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will be working in the Internal Medicine department where you will be rooming patients, checking vitals, doing manual blood pressure, EKGs, working in EPIC, POC Testing, assisting providers and scheduling follow up appointments in EPIC. The training is very hands on and there is a ton of room for growth. An MA diploma and/or certifiction is required for this position.

Day to day:

  • Rooming patients - vital sign assessments (Manual BP, temp, pulse, Oxygen saturation, height, and weight).
  • EMR used is "EPIC" - experience preferred but we train on this, no problem.
  • Point of care testing between visits.
  • EKG's.
  • Blood glucose testing.
  • Swabbing patients for COVID, FLU, STREP, etc.
  • Urinalysis.
  • Assisting with pap smears and breast exams.
  • Outreaching to patients with results.
  • Refill medication under clinical direction.
  • Manage provider in-basket.
  • Booking appointments.
  • Spirometry testing.
  • Ear irrigations.
  • Pregnancy testing.
  • Depression screenings.
  • Nebulizer treatments.
  • Orthostatic vital signs.
  • Cryotherapy.

Schedule/Shift: M-F 9:30am-6:00pm - some flexibility.

Location: Brookline, MA (public transportation accessible)

You must hold your MA diploma and/or certification to qualify for this position.
