Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Bilingual Medical Assistant fluent in Spanish and English with experience in pediatrics to join our healthcare team. This role supports physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality care to our pediatric patients and their families in a fast-paced, friendly environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Greet and room pediatric patients, verifying patient information and vital signs

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with exams, procedures, and immunizations

  • Translate medical information and instructions between providers and Spanish-speaking families

  • Collect medical histories and update electronic medical records (EMR)

  • Administer vaccines and perform basic lab tests (e.g., strep, flu, urinalysis)

  • Ensure a clean, child-friendly clinical environment

  • Educate families on medication instructions, follow-up care, and wellness tips

  • Manage front desk duties as needed, including scheduling, check-in/out, and insurance verification

  • Collaborate with pediatric care teams to ensure a positive patient experience


Qualifications:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (verbal and written) required

  • 1+ year of pediatric medical assisting experience preferred

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required

  • CPR certification (Pediatric CPR preferred)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with EMR systems (Epic, etc.)

  • Empathy and patience when working with children and families
