Medical Assistant

Location: South End, Boston
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-Hour Lunch)
Pay Range: $22 - $25 per hour

Position Overview:
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care. Working closely with our healthcare providers, you will assist in managing patient flow, ensure efficient clinic operations, and provide both physical and emotional support to patients of all ages (from infants to seniors). You will help maintain a smooth and well-organized environment by preparing for patient visits, assisting providers, and ensuring all necessary supplies and test results are ready. Your expertise will be essential in performing clinical tasks, managing non-pharmaceutical supplies, and contributing to a top-tier healthcare experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers by rooming patients, taking vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and documenting patient information in the EPIC system.
  • Perform essential procedures such as pulse oximetry, administering oxygen, obtaining EKGs, and conducting laboratory tests (e.g., glucometer, urine dipstick analysis).
  • Maintain patient care equipment, ensure it is stocked and ready for use, and clean and wrap instruments for sterilization.
  • Manage inventory of non-pharmaceutical supplies and assist with equipment control.
  • Follow established protocols for autoclave operations, ensuring proper sterilization and documentation.
  • Provide direct support to providers throughout patient sessions, communicating effectively to ensure efficient care delivery.
  • Assist in preparing for assigned clinics, ensuring all test results and medical instruments are available per departmental protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Medical Assistant (MA) Diploma or Certification (must be verified).
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in working with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.
