Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Overview: The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring efficient clinical operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for rooming patients, collecting and documenting medical history and chief complaints, taking vitals when necessary, and communicating follow-up information between patients and providers. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist providers with clinical procedures within the scope of practice.

We are looking for individuals who possess exceptional customer service skills, a positive and effective communication style, and strong problem-solving abilities. The role demands multitasking with high accuracy to deliver safe, quality care. Candidates with at least 1 to 2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting and national certification as a Registered Medical Assistant are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, collecting accurate patient history and vitals.
  • Maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are stocked and equipped with necessary supplies and instruments.
  • Assist with and set up for medical procedures under the supervision of a physician or nurse manager.
  • Perform post-operative wound care, suture removal, dressing changes, cast and splint application/removal.
  • Provide patient education, answer questions, and follow up on physician instructions.
  • Ensure confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle general administrative tasks, including EMR documentation and phone triage.
  • Identify and address OSHA compliance issues.
  • Participate in maintaining office procedures and policies.
  • Support clinical staff and physicians with various duties, including patient care, phone follow-ups, and medication updates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.
  • National Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred).
  • Orthopedic and/or casting experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a high-stress, busy work environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Team player who thrives under pressure.
  • Pleasant, professional, and articulate communication skills.

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: $20-23.50 hourly (depending on experience and certification status)

Hours: 40 hours/week - Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Location: Stamford, CT OR Greenwich, CT

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
