Job description

Medix is looking for an Medical Assistant to join a team of professionals in providing excellent patient care. This is a great opportunity to work on a team environment, as well as work one on one with patients in a fast paced setting!

Responsibilities: Performs administrative duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; pre-certification of tests, procedures and medications; processing insurance forms; preparing financial records; answering phones; and entering ambulatory care charges.

  • Maintains medical records and ensures all required documentation is available in the medical record.
  • Ensures data and information collected for completed procedures is recorded on the appropriate systems and in medical records.
  • Ensures the orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stocks assigned areas, and follows all regulatory and patient safety clinical standards.
  • Checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, medication inventories, etc.

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm

Location: Kansas city, MO 64155

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through an accredited certification organization.
  • 2 years of experience in a physician's office setting, preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
  • Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
