Job description

We are currently seeking Medical Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, or Ophthalmic Technicians to join a specialized Ophthalmology Practice in Monroeville, PA!

PLEASE NOTE: We have also have openings in Bethel Park, Cranberry Township, Johnstown, and Tridelphia

Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant

Hours: 7:50 AM start time - End time varies, but no later than 6 PM (Monday - Friday)

About Us:

We are a dynamic and growing Ophthalmology group committed to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant to join our team. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and ongoing education within the retina subspecialty of Ophthalmology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation: Initiate and document patient evaluations including chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past surgeries, medications, and ocular findings, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Pre-Exam Testing: Perform tests such as visual acuity assessments, tonometry, pupillary dilation, and other patient services as directed by the physician.
  • Procedure Setup: Prepare for procedures including intravitreal injections, managing drug preparation and documentation in EHR (lot number, expiration date, etc.).
  • Instrument Management: Clean surgical instruments for sterile processing, conduct inventory of instrument supplies, and assist in maintenance of clinical exam equipment.
  • Supply Management: Order clinical supplies as needed.
  • Room Management: Open and close exam and injection rooms.
  • Photography Assistance: Assist with patient photography if trained.
