Job description

We are currently seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistants to join our Ophthalmology group!

Please note: We are open to - Ophthalmic Technicians, Medical Assistants, and Patient Care Technicians

Locations of Openings:

- Monroeville, Bethel Park, AND Cranberry Township

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past surgeries, all medications, and all pertinent ocular findings accurately in accordance with compliance guidelines.
  • Perform pre-exam testing including visual acuity assessment, tonometry, pupillary dilation, and other patient services as requested by the physician.
  • Setup for procedures including intravitreal injections, which requires pulling the drug, documenting in E.H.R. lot number, expiration date, and other pertinent drug data.
  • Clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing.
  • Conduct inventory of instrument supply as directed.
  • Assist with maintenance of clinical exam equipment as directed.
  • Order clinical supplies as directed.
  • Open and close exam and injection rooms.
  • Assist in photography if trained to do so.

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a neat, professional appearance are mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent typing skills and previous electronic health record experience such as EPIC, Nextgen, etc.
  • Previous medical office clinical experience and previous ophthalmology experience preferred.

Locations:

Clinical staff are required to travel to at least two offices. Flexibility and dedication are essential due to the dynamic nature of patient care and the specialty's demands.
