Job description

Job Title: Medical Assistant- Primary Care

Hours: 8-430 OR 9-5

Job Description: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing support to healthcare professionals in the primary care setting . This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care. The successful candidate will perform a range of basic medical duties and must be capable of maintaining a calm and efficient demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
  2. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  3. Take patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  4. Record patient medical histories and other relevant information accurately.
  5. Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring.
  6. Administer medications and injections under the direction of healthcare providers.
  7. Schedule patient appointments and maintain electronic health records.
  8. Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
  9. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health records systems.
  • Willingness to undergo a 10-panel drug screening test.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
