Pay: $19-23/hr

Department: Dermatology

Overview: The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information

• Scribing information for the dermatologist

• Providing post op wound care to patients

• Drawing blood and suture removal

• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms

• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Medical Assisting National certification (preferred); diploma required
• 1+ years experience (preferred)
• EMR experience
• Team player
• Reliable
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
