Overview

A successful and growing ophthalmology practice Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and computer savvy medical assistant to be trained to become a ophthalmic technician.

  • Must work independently and as part of a team
  • Responsible for acquiring patient histories
  • Perform complete patient work-ups in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Perform various testing and assisting physicians as needed

This is a high volume office setting. Medical Assistants/Opthalmic Techs will be seeing anywhere from 30-60 patients daily.

The Medical Assistants will be brought in and do MA duties such as verifying patient health history, checking them in their rooms, assisting physicians with small procedures, but eventually will learn and be trained on the Ophthalmology side of things such testing procedures.

Requirements:

  • Ophthalmology experience (preferred)
  • 1+ years of Medical assisting experience (must be recent- no experiences prior to 2018)
  • Medical assisting school diploma
  • National certification in medical assisting (preferred)
