Job description

We are hiring qualified Medical Assistants to join our team in the Manhasset, NY area. We are seeking candidates who are a team player, comfortable with phlebotomy, and someone who is both reliable and responsible. Job Title: Medical Assistant

Pay Rate: $19-21.00/hr
Location(s): Mahnasset, NY

Hours: Monday: 9AM-5PM Tuesday: 11AM-7PM or 10AM-6PM Wednesday: 11AM-7PM or 10AM-6PM Thursday: 11AM-7PM or 10AM-6PM Friday: 9AM-5PM Flexibility is a must schedules vary from day to day. Evenings is a must, just to give you an idea of the different shifts; 7-3, 8-4, 9-5, 10-6, 11-7 and there usually is Over time.

Parking:

-Metered for first three months -After 3 months they rotate a spot and get quarters that cover almost all of parking -Also very short walk from train station

Overview:

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and conduct interviews.
  • Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; document all information in the patient's chart.
  • Ensure completion and availability of all related reports, labs, and information in patients' medical records before appointments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard medical records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and assist physicians and physician assistants during exams.
  • Disinfect and clean treatment rooms following patient examinations, adhering to established standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by complying with legal regulations.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Log sterilization activities and properly dispose of contaminated supplies.
  • Inventory stock, place orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
  • Maintain logs and perform required checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, BCG).
  • Draw blood and change dressings as needed.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures and ensure proper sterilization and protocol for cystoscopes.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain medical history and medicine reconciliation, inputting data into charts.
  • Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files.
  • Perform unpacking of supplies and organize them in designated areas.
  • Adhere to proper sterilization procedures and protocols, especially concerning cystoscopes.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • Open to someone out of school with the right personality
  • Medical assisting school diploma (required)
  • National certification highly preferred
  • Phlebotomy is huge here, MUST be very comfortable with Phlebotomy
  • Urology is a plus, not required
  • Must be a team player and be willing to help out
  • Reliable and Responsible
  • Wants someone who will ask for things to do, instead of being told what to do
  • Ideally 1+ year(s) of recent Medical Assistant experience
  • Covid vaccine required
