Job description

Machine Operator

Medix Engineering is seeking a Machine Operator of a chemical manufacturer located in Saint Charles that serves directly into the automotive and consumer markets, ensuring smooth and durable finishes on metal products. Due to a plant expansion, they have one opening on their first, second and third shift.

Second Shift; Monday - Friday, 2PM - 10:30PM; $20.08

Third Shift; Monday - Friday 10:00PM - 6:30AM; $20.83

Rotating 12 Hour Morning Shift; 6AM - 6PM; $20.01

Rotating 12 Hour Night Shift; 6PM - 6AM $22.50

Responsibilities:

  • Set up equipment using computer controlled equipment
  • Record operational data accurately on specified forms
  • Clean and disassemble equipment
  • Prepare tooling for changeovers and perform machine changeovers
  • Obtain and run samples to test batch quality and cleanliness
  • Conduct cabin powder collection to reduce waste
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Responsible for operation of extruders, mill, sieve
  • Package and label finished goods in designated carton boxes
  • Stack finished goods on appropriate skids
  • Organize carton boxes effectively and change them in a timely manner
  • Document all packaging on specified forms.
  • Continually monitor production runs to detect defects or deviations from standards
  • Participate in department meetings
  • Interact with co-workers, peers and supervisor in a constructive, productive and cooperative manner to meet production needs

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year in manufacturing and production - batch making, extruder, mill and mixing operating experience preferred
  • Regular, predictable, on-site attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Comfortable working in an environment exposed to dust, powder coating paint, and noise
  • Wearing of a PPE (personal protective equipment) required for up to 12 hours (includes face mask, eye protection, ear plugs)
