Job description

The LVN Supervisor assists the Director of Nursing in the operation of the clinic. The LVN Supervisor oversees and supervises the performance and productivity of clinical staff (Back Office/Medical Assistants) to ensure efficient clinical workflows. This role involves ongoing clinical support, patient/peer education, and collaboration with patients, clients, staff members, and providers. The LVN Supervisor has decision-making authority under the guidance of the LVN Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nursing duties per the LVN scope of practice.
  • Oversee the overall operations of 3 clinics in the Valley Area, with a team of about ~12 Medical Assistants.
  • Create a schedule of staff members to ensure proper coverage in the clinics.
  • Provide coaching and corrective feedback when necessary.
  • Manage the clinic budgets and inventory/ supplies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and recording of all pertinent patient information in compliance with clinic policies and regulations.
  • Participate in preparing for facilities and programmatic audits.
  • Monitor laboratory and equipment logs as required by program and funding guidelines.
  • Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and adherence to infection control procedures.
  • Monitor staff compliance with infection control techniques and universal precautions.
  • Provide education to clinical staff on infection control procedures and document these efforts.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard clinical staff (MAs/LVNs) in collaboration with management.
  • Assign workloads, develop priorities, and establish work schedules to ensure timely task completion.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, training, and development for clinical staff.
  • Assist providers with exams and treatments as needed.
  • Administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and topical medications as ordered by providers.
  • Provide therapeutic patient care and ongoing education on treatments, health maintenance, and medication adherence.
  • Conduct patient group educational sessions on various topics.
  • Develop and manage clinic staff schedules, monthly assignments, and accountability plans.
  • Promote and improve customer service for patients and staff by demonstrating alignment with organizational values.
  • Facilitate daily huddles and communicate regularly with providers to address patient flow issues.
  • Handle escalated questions and support back-office workflows.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of vaccine schedules and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
  • Ensure efficient vaccine administration workflows for diverse populations, including children and adults.

Must-Have Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
  • Knowledge of vaccine schedules and administration.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple clinic sites as needed.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desired.

Shifts: Monday- Friday 8:00- 5:00 pm
