Hiring for 1 LPN to join the medical staff team at the correctional center
Position is very straight forward - Will be responsible for passing meds to the inmates
Start day by helping with any orders, getting medications added in & prepared for distribution
Will do one med pass at 6PM - This pass has around 15 patients & a second pass at 10PM - This pass has around 85 patients
Using a med cart to bring medications to patients dorm, will be accompanied by an officer at all times
All meds the LPN will be passing are oral medications (no injections required)
Assist RN with drawing up insulin & getting it prepared for the following day for the nurse to give out
Paper charting --> No charting is done on an EHR/EMR, the Medical Director prefers paper charting, LPN must be OK with this (Can be daunting at first, but once in the routine, it becomes pretty standard)
Help with prepping charts/completing paperwork for inmates 14 day health assessment
Will bring nail clippers around at least once/week, can bring these on the med cart during med passes
Open to training new grads, this position is very straight forward and you know what to expect every day --> Just need to find someone that is comfortable with the setting
**This is a very safe environment safe, both the RN/LPN spoke to the level of security & safety present at all times - They work in a different part of the facility (when not passing meds), and are accompanied by an officer (if not 2) at all times
