Job description

Medix is seeking to hire a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join a prestigious health care organization in Santa Monica, CA.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Attending to 40-50 patients per day
  • An LVN should have the knowledge and training to administer breathing treatments, such as nebulizer treatments, to patients with respiratory issues.
  • Phlebotomy skills are important for drawing blood samples for various diagnostic tests. A licensed vocational nurse should be proficient in phlebotomy techniques.
  • Administering injections, including vaccines and medications, is a common task for LVNs in urgent care. Proper technique and knowledge of medications are essential.
  • Taking and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation) are fundamental nursing tasks. LVNs should be skilled in accurately assessing and documenting vital signs.
  • LVNs are often responsible for assessing and treating stable patients with minor injuries, cuts, bruises, or fractures in urgent care settings. This involves wound care, splinting, and providing pain relief.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of LVN experience
  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • IV certified (IV therapy for dehydrated patients)

Schedule/Shift

  • Flexible schedule - Open to 4 /10s and different start and end times

Pay

  • $30/hr- $36/hr
