Job Description

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Manage clinical care for students, ensuring timely access to services and follow-up support.
  • Communicate with patients, families, clinicians, and staff regarding treatment and program implementation.
  • Coordinate referrals between mental health counselors, academic departments, ensuring proper fit.
  • Assess students' clinical needs and collaborate on appropriate care plans, maintaining patient records.
  • Provide brief assessments and interventions while students connect with providers.
  • Coordinate external referrals to partners with senior staff.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for referrals, feedback, and utilization metrics.
  • Maintain a database of local, national, and international mental health resources.
  • Authorize referrals and collaborate with Member Services, Claims, and Billing for service coverage.
  • Act as the primary contact for students and clinicians regarding external services and placement.
  • Support students through the referral process, ensuring timely scheduling with community providers.
  • Build strong relationships with students, clinicians, and university stakeholders.
  • Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards for health information.
  • Provide educational resources and consultations to various university departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

  • State of CT Clinical Social Worker License or Clinical Social Worker license-eligible required.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work with three years providing clinical care post-licensure required.
  • Experience working in a college counseling center preferred.
  • Experience in clinical care management preferred.
