Job Description
We are a Non-Profit Federally Qualified Healthcare Center established to provide medical services to underserved populations in Central Massachusetts. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team. This role involves providing integrated behavioral health services, including psychosocial evaluations, therapy, crisis intervention, and case management, in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
- Provide counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families, including preparing treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care.
- Perform therapeutic crisis interventions and urgent services as needed.
- Collect patient data through interviews, case history, psychological tests, and observational techniques; evaluate data to determine the appropriate therapeutic approach or referral.
- Collaborate with mental health and medical staff in the delivery of therapeutic and casework services.
- Refer clients to appropriate service agencies for financial assistance and other needed services.
- Provide home visits for counseling and outreach services as required.
- Follow up with clients to ensure the effectiveness of treatment and adjust therapy methods when necessary.
- Maintain case files, referrals, and documentation related to client treatment, and participate in legal proceedings, such as civil commitment hearings.
- Serve as a liaison to community organizations and schools and participate in community outreach and education activities.
- Provide clinical supervision to lower-level therapists and/or graduate interns, as needed.
- Perform various administrative duties, such as monitoring budgets, preparing reports, and assisting in research projects.
- Deliver formal teaching, consultation, and in-service training to professionals on proper handling or referral of various matters.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the health center's mission, values, and standards.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required
- LCSW will be considered if actively working toward receiving LICSW
- Independently licensed candidates only (no candidates with MSW working towards LCSW)
