About the role:

The overall responsibilities of the laboratory analyst include independently conducting routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and perform maintenance on ICP, AA & SIE instruments;
  • Perform wet assay analytical works including gravimetric and volumetric analyses;
  • Prepare sample dilutions, instrument operating solutions and calibration standards;
  • Test and evaluate calibration standards;
  • Identify and correct QC related problems by ensuring the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards;
  • Effectively liaise within department to communicate safety, quality and operational issues;
  • Ensure all work instructions and standard working procedures are strictly adhered to;
  • In conjunction with the supervisor, modify and improve analytical procedures;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety requirements within the Safety Manual and communicating all safety concerns to the Manager.
