A Blood Center in Seattle is looking for a Laboratory Logistics and Transportation Specialist to
join their team.
This is a multifaceted position with an emphasis on transportation. They can expect a
strong mix of courier and delivery responsibilities in addition to administrative and
direct laboratory support. This positional is essential to the deliverance of blood samples
and other products to hospital systems within the greater Seattle area and has three
major aspects - Courier, Laboratory Aid, Dispatch.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Courier
○ Transport blood related products supplies and other materials from labs to the
clients local hospital partners
○ This client have 15 hospital partners and will require transport to the following
regions (Seattle, Shoreline, Renton, Bellevue)
○ High volume of deliveries so the candidate expect to work under fairly fast
paced conditions
Laboratory Aid
○ Appropriately document unacceptable specimens and products and escalate
appropriately
○ Perform data entry for both patients and donors
○ Continued documentation as tasks are completed, paying close attention to
detail
○ Note - in this position you will operate with specimens directly meaning you
will see blood. This is an aspect of the position you must be comfortable with
Dispatch
○ Telephonic communications with both vendors and internal team members
○ This client uses an internal computer system to help coordinate local and
regional transportation - so computer skills will be essential to this position
Requirements:
● High School Diploma
● Clean Driving Record (No DUIs, No Excessive Speeding Tickets)
Additional Skills:
● Lab Experience
● Customer Service Experience
● Transportation Experience
● Able to Multitask/work in an environment that is fast paced
● Reliability - attendance is imperative
● Ability to pay close attention to detail
Schedule/Shift:
We have three shifts available - candidates will commit to one schedule (All 8 hour shifts):
1) Sun-Thurs start time anywhere from 0530-0900 ( 8 hour shifts)
2) Tues-Sat start time anywhere from 0530-0900 (8 hour shifts)
3) Variable Shift - requiring open availability through the week and would be scheduled
for first, second and third shifts
Contract Length:
800 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of
contract.
Pay: $24 - $25 (Dependant on experience)
