Data Migration Analyst

3 Month Contract with opportunity of extension

100% remote

One of Medix's top ranked clients is a leading education institute within the United States. They are partnering with Medix to find an IT Data Migration Analyst to join their team as they transition from using BOX and other systems to Wasabi as their cloud storage platform. The ideal candidate would have experience within either platform, however, an individual who has experience performing large system migrations is completely fine! This will be a remote contract and our client is eager to get this individual onboarded ASAP!

This opportunity includes a competitive compensation range pending on experience, $40-50/hour, eligibility to enroll in medical, dental, visual benefits, sick time, and remote flexibility.

Job Description:

As a Data Migration Analyst you will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of data from systems like BOX, OneDrive, SharePoint, and more to Wasabi cloud platforms. You will collaborate closely with our IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure smooth and efficient data migrations. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud storage solutions, data management best practices, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during migrations.

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in BOX, SharePoint, OneDrive and Wasabi cloud storage solutions, including configuring storage environments, managing access permissions, and optimizing storage usage.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to gather requirements, define migration strategies, and ensure alignment with project timelines and goals.
• Quality Assurance: Perform data integrity checks and validation post-migration to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
• Documentation and Reporting: Document migration processes, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented. Generate reports and provide updates to stakeholders on migration progress.
• Problem Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to data migrations, working proactively to implement solutions and minimize disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years experience working within data including data migration, cleansing, etc
• Previous experience performing large data files migrations preferably within BOX, SharePoint, OneDrive, or other related sources
• Wasabi experience - Plus
• Experience overseeing or acting as a hands-on Project Manager overseeing the data migration, communicating with stakeholders, and providing project updates
• PMP certification
