Job description

Payment Posting Specialist



Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to join our team in San Antonio. This fully on-site role requires expertise in payment and cash posting, with a strong focus on claims adjudication, reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and balancing for end-of-day (EOD) closing. Ideal candidates will have experience in dental or medical payment processing and possess strong proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office.



Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter payments into patient accounts and match them to the ledger.
  • Review and adjust claims and patient accounts based on EOBs, applying appropriate billing or credits.
  • Process capitation payments and search patient accounts for automated system updates.
  • Ensure daily postings and data entries balance with live check and electronic deposits.
  • Maintain accurate logs of completed electronic deposits.
  • File completed EOBs in end-of-day packets and report posting totals to management.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar payment posting or claims adjudication role.
  • Strong knowledge of EOBs, payment posting, cash posting, and billing.
  • Experience with balancing before EOD closing is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in 10-key data entry and Microsoft Excel.
  • Dentrix experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve variances in payment distribution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.


Work Schedule & Expectations

  • Monday - Friday, with flexible start times:
    • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
    • 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
    • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
  • Once a start time is chosen, it must be maintained for the duration of employment.
  • Overtime is required as a temporary employee (8 Saturdays throughout 2025).
  • Upon conversion to a full-time employee, an additional 7 overtime days per month plus occasional Saturdays will be required.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay with bonus potential of up to $250 per month (equivalent to approximately $1.50 more per hour).
    • 80% of the team meets this bonus threshold monthly.
