Insurance Coordinator

Overview/Responsibilities

• Responsible for insurance verification and/or authorization on patients.
• Responsible for transcribing information from the Intake Referral Form and patient information received from the referral source into the computer system correctly. This includes but is not limited to: demographics, insurance, physician, nursing agency, diagnosis, height, weight, and allergies (when information is available and as applicable).
• Handles faxes as appropriate and as applicable.
• Re-verification of insurance and demographics on all restart patients.
• Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
• Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

• 1+ years insurance verification and authorization experience
• Strong knowledge of payor/insurance landscape
• Insurance experience

Nice to Have Skills

• Home infusion/pharmacy background
• CPR+ software

Schedule/Shift

• M-F, 8:30 start time. Mandatory 30 mins of OT on 1st week of the month

Pay

• $20-$22 (depending on experience and education)
