Job description
Medix is looking to hire a Dental/ Medical Insurance Collector to join a large, well-established organization in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the workflow of assigned claims and meeting deadlines for filing to obtain maximum reimbursements
- Monitoring claims activity for timely payment from all payers
- Understanding and staying informed of changes with procedures, billing guidelines and laws for specific insurance carriers or payers
- Conducting full patient account audits to determine appropriate action
- Review accounts for major treatment requiring additional documentation. Process insurance billing for completed treatment
Requirements / Experience
- 2+ year's recent collections experience in a dental or medical setting.
- Knowledge of CDT Coding and Terminology.
- Ability to read dental radiographs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of dental/medical industry and insurance plans (i.e. HMO, PPO, and Discount Plans) is required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Detail oriented, organized and work with little supervision.
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday 8:00- 5:00 pm
Pay range:
$18- 21/hr BOE
