Job description

Medix is looking to hire a Dental/ Medical Insurance Collector to join a large, well-established organization in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the workflow of assigned claims and meeting deadlines for filing to obtain maximum reimbursements
  • Monitoring claims activity for timely payment from all payers
  • Understanding and staying informed of changes with procedures, billing guidelines and laws for specific insurance carriers or payers
  • Conducting full patient account audits to determine appropriate action
  • Review accounts for major treatment requiring additional documentation. Process insurance billing for completed treatment

Requirements / Experience

  • 2+ year's recent collections experience in a dental or medical setting.
  • Knowledge of CDT Coding and Terminology.
  • Ability to read dental radiographs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of dental/medical industry and insurance plans (i.e. HMO, PPO, and Discount Plans) is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized and work with little supervision.

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 8:00- 5:00 pm

Pay range:

$18- 21/hr BOE
