Construction/Infrastructure Project Manager

Contract to Hire after 12 months

Work Location: Hybrid schedule onsite 2-3 days/week in Chicago, IL (CST Hours)

Hourly Range: $56-$63 / hour W2

ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE

Medix is currently seeking a Construction/Infrastructure Project Manager for an opportunity with one of our top healthcare clients in the Chicago market. Our client is an academic medical center and center for basic and clinical research, with physicians and scientists involved in hundreds of research projects developing and testing the effectiveness and safety of new therapies and medical devices.

This Project Manager will join a team focused on technology infrastructure and telecom initiatives that pertain to new builds and renovation construction projects.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • This PM is going to be working with an Architect that is designing what the space is going to look like and the PM will use those drawings to understand data, network and device connection requirements.
  • Lead construction projects, building renovations or relocations, primarily for phone relocation/coordination, printers, computers, etc.
  • Work with digital relations departments in gathering network and device requirements to keep up with the latest standard that they follow
  • High level of detail preparing network configuration spreadsheets to meet routed-edge requirements, listing jack IDs, device specifics, etc. from as-builts/patch panel schedules; familiarity with architectural drawings a plus
  • Request IP addresses after obtaining MAC addresses
  • Request VPN access
  • Conduct IT Closet surveys with network specialist
  • Conduct with wireless surveys
  • Managing department relocations regarding phones and computers, etc.
  • Managing projects focused on device deployment rollouts with some oversight for those rollouts with internal clinical information systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Healthcare IT infrastructure experience with construction projects, renovations or relocations, primarily responsible for phone, computer, printer relocation/coordination, etc.
  • Experience leading projects dealing with construction/expansion/equipment that needs to be moved around
  • Really looking for someone who is very detailed when they take building requirements to put in spreadsheets to have the network configured/Then do onsite audits with electrical contractors where everything is done accurately according to the drawings. Someone who understands what that means and how important that is.
  • Looking for mid-senior level - targeting minimal 4-6 years' experience
  • Someone that can execute on a program level but not so high level that they can't walk through the project and verify items, (i.e. data jack labeling, etc. room readiness for device deployment)
  • Healthcare experience ideal and PMP certification is a plus
  • Coordination of medical devices/imaging modality installation and testing a plus
  • Service Now experience a plus
