Job Title: In Vivo Research Associate

Work Location: On-site in Carlsbad, CA

Job Description:

Position Summary:
As a Research Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting in vivo studies for medical device testing. This position requires a solid foundation in animal anatomy, physiology, and surgery, as you'll be helping to develop and support in vivo models to assess therapeutics and medical devices for various health indications.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer test substances through various methods, including oral gavage, intravenous, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, and intramuscular routes.
  • Oversee and monitor animal health and well-being.
  • Collect biological specimens, such as blood, from laboratory animals.
  • Conduct study-related activities in alignment with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) regulations, study protocols, and internal SOPs.
  • Review and maintain quality control of study documentation.
  • Handle, restrain, and provide care for different species of laboratory animals.
  • Prepare for studies by labeling collection tubes and setting up study rooms.
  • Place catheters in large animals and perform biopsies, skin excisions, necropsies, and tissue collection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including study directors, principal investigators, QC/QA, and account managers.
  • Maintain precise records in internal databases.
  • Support internal research projects to enhance service offerings.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques as needed and perform other tasks as directed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma (HSD/GED) or an Associate's degree; a Bachelor of Science (BS) is preferred, especially for senior-level roles.
  • Background in lab animal (in vivo) research is essential.
  • Experience with large mammal is required

Schedule/ Shift: Monday-Friday 9-5
