Hospital/Facility Billing Specialist (3-Month Contract)

Are you an experienced medical biller looking for a short-term opportunity to make an impact? We are seeking a Hospital/Facility Billing Specialist for a 3-month contract to support our billing team in processing claims, managing denials, and ensuring accurate reimbursement.
Training for this role would be CST hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit hospital, hospital-based physician, and clinic claims to third-party insurance carriers (electronic & paper).
- Secure necessary medical documentation for claims processing.
- Follow up on unpaid claims until resolved, ensuring only self-pay balances remain.
- Process claim rejections by correcting errors and resubmitting as needed.
- Manage denials, including filing appeals for maximum reimbursement.
- Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and respond to insurance inquiries.
- Ensure timely claim submission with zero errors as the goal.
- Work closely with the Billing Manager/Supervisor to address reimbursement challenges.
- Review reports for charge discrepancies, claim corrections, and credit resolution.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company and client policies.
What We're Looking For:
🔹 1+ years of experience within hospital/facility billing (UB-04 claim forms)
🔹 Strong computer skills and proficiency in CPT & ICD-10 coding
🔹 Familiarity with medical terminology and payer guidelines
🔹 Experience filing claim appeals to maximize reimbursement
🔹 Strong written and verbal communication skills
🔹 High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
MUST have experience with EPIC, Cerner, Centriq, or Thrive
