Requirements

Summary: The Hospital Collections Specialist will be responsible for all payer collections and follow-up for government and commercial parties. You will utilize both outbound correspondence and payer portals to follow-up on outstanding, aging and/or claims denials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

As a Hospital Medical Collector, you will...

• Following up on rejections, denials, or no responses on Acute/Hospital claims (UB04)
• Following up on appeals
• Analyze accounts
• Working on primary and secondary insurance companies
• Re-submission of claims, but not doing initial billing
• *No* self pay, no credit balances

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

• 2+ Years of Direct Acute Hospital Billing & Collections Experience
• High level of account notation
• Expert Understanding of Insurance Payers (Commercial and Government)
• Proven Track Record of Hitting 45+ Unique Account Touches Daily

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment such as: "EMR" Epic (electronic medical record system), computer, internet, email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Work Environment: Hybrid requirement is 3 days remote, and 2 days onsite. Equipment will be provided to the employee by the employer in order to meet remote work requirements.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
