Job description

Position Overview:
The Home Health Patient Service Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely authorizations for necessary care. This position requires collaboration with healthcare teams, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to verify insurance eligibility and secure authorizations for home health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify home health insurance benefits accurately.
  • Obtain necessary home health authorizations and maintain detailed records.
  • Communicate with patients and their families about care plans and patient conditions.
  • Document information in the EMR system and scan relevant details under patient charts.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to ensure seamless care coordination.

Position Details:

  • Contract Duration: Through June 2025, with the possibility of extension.
  • Work Arrangement:
    • Training: Onsite.
    • Post-Training: Hybrid schedule, 1-3 days onsite weekly, based on job performance.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
    • Weekend rotation required (1-2 weekends per month, depending on the month).
    • No holiday shifts.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of insurance verification experience.
  • Strong background in obtaining authorizations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in using computers and documentation systems.
