Job Title: HIM Supervisor - Indexing (Remote)

Location: Remote (Must be in the general vicinity of Augusta or Atlanta for occasional on-site meetings)
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 8 AM start time, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract-to-Hire

Job Description:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor - Indexing is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to document indexing and medical records processing. This leadership role involves managing a team of remote and on-site HIM Specialists, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of document management, indexing, and EMR workflows
  • Assign work and monitor staff productivity across inpatient and ambulatory settings
  • Provide training, performance feedback, and coaching to HIM team members
  • Oversee document indexing for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements for workflow efficiency
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Epic, OnBase, and document management systems
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, timekeeping, and performance management procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Epic and OnBase experience required
  • 3+ years of HIM supervisory experience
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Document Indexing
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing large teams and remote staff preferred
