Job Title: HIM Specialist (Remote)

Location: Remote (Must provide own equipment)
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible start between 5:00AM - 8:00AM
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract-to-Hire

Job Description:

The Remote Health Information Managment Specialist will be responsible for indexing medical records into OnBase and ensuring patient records are organized, classified, and accessible for future retrieval. This role requires experience in document indexing, EMR systems, and a strong understanding of HIM workflows.

• Index scanned medical records into OnBase, categorizing documents by diagnosis, location, or procedure code.
• Work within EMR and OnBase work queues, ensuring proper classification of documents.
• Maintain productivity standards of 130 documents per day (outpatient) and 300 per day (inpatient).
• Identify and escalate discrepancies or missing documents to the appropriate teams.
• Ensure compliance with HIM best practices and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience with OnBase (required)
• Experience with Epic (required)
• 2+ years of medical records or indexing experience
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and data entry
• Must provide own computer equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
