Job description

Location: Portland, OR

Employment Type: Contract (Potential for Extension or Contract-to-Hire)
Schedule: Full-time, Onsite | Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Position Overview:

The HIM Representative will be responsible for managing patient medical records, ensuring accurate documentation, and handling high-volume fax communications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scanning and indexing clinical documentation into patient electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Pulling and sorting patient electronic records.
  • Handling 200-300 faxes per day, including sending plans of care and orders to designated physicians.
  • Checking in orders within EPIC and filing them into EMR.
  • Following up on outstanding and unsigned orders by communicating with physician offices.
  • Monitoring, routing, and completing incoming faxes and in-basket messages.
  • Preparing and sending patient and provider communications.
  • Assisting with the retention and destruction of paper records as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to read and accurately process medical orders.
