Job description

Location: Portland, OR
Position Type: Contract with a strong possibility of extension or Contract-to-Hire (C2H) based on business needs.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Onsite)

Overview:
We aew seeking a dedicated HIM Representative to support the Health Information Management team. This role involves managing electronic medical records and facilitating the smooth flow of clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of patient records while providing excellent administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scan and index clinical documentation into patient electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Fax plans of care and orders to designated physicians.
  • Check in signed orders and file them accurately into the EMR.
  • Monitor, route, and process incoming faxes (200-300 per day) and in-basket messages.
  • Call physician offices to follow up on unsigned orders and outstanding documents.
  • Prepare and distribute communications to patients and providers.
  • Assist with the retention and destruction of paper records as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Proficiency: Must be tech-savvy with strong analytical skills to read and process orders accurately.
  • EPIC Experience: Prior experience with EPIC is highly preferred.
  • HIM/Healthcare Records Knowledge: Background in health information management or medical records is an advantage.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage high volumes of data and ensure accuracy.
