Job description

Medix is hiring for a Patient Care Assistant/Front Desk position!


The ideal candidate has their high school diploma, and 1 year medical or other office experience.

Covid 19 vaccination required.

Specific Duties (examples):


1) Prep and pulling of patient charts for the following week's visits by Thursday. Chart checklist
should be filled out completely and signed. Any missing information should be addressed at
this time. This task should be completed early in the day for review by staff nurse.
2) Filing of all paperwork daily.
3) Charts should be returned to the wall, all loose paperwork in order, at the end of each clinic
day. All charts should remain alphabetized on the wall.
4) Answering telephone calls.
5) Paging on consultations to physicians. Page should include consult, hospital, patient name,
room number, referring physician, and hospital phone number with appropriate extension.
6) Call all patients the day prior to their appointment to confirm.
7) Make appointments for new and existing patients according to set guidelines. If patient is
new, directions should be given.
8) Handling and processing of billing information daily.
9) Handling and processing of dictation, letters, and physician orders daily.
10) Register patients, enter and/or update patient demographics, make copies of vital
information.
11) Collect co-payments and past due balances from patients at check-in/check-out desk.
12) Process medical records requests.
