Food Service Worker

A Nutrition Services Department in Puyallup is looking for Food Service Workers to join their team to support their retail cafeteria. This particular food service worker's primary function will be supporting inventory and stocking operations in their storeroom. This role includes standing, lifting, and walking as this contractor will be responsible for restocking supplies, reorganizing them and overall providing support to the nutrition services department as needed.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to pick-up extra shifts to reach 40 hours per week by supporting the retail cafeteria
  • Responsibilities vary - including cashiering , acting as a barista, serving, etc.
  • Preparing meals for both the in-patient and retail cafeterias. Casual dining, but need to be able to work in a fast paced environment

This role will be physically demanding. Must be comfortable being on your feet all day, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods.

Requirements:

  • Food Handler's Card (within 7 days of employment)
  • Flu Vaccination

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in institutional or restaurant food service preferred

Schedule/Shift:

Candidate will be asked to work a part time shift - supporting the stock room at the following time

Tuesday and Thursday

  • 500a-130p

If this candidate is interested in working a full 40 hours - they must be able to work the other areas within the nutrition services department (dishroom, Barista, tray line, retail, ect) as well as have availability to work the following shift times

Mon - Sunday w/ Rotating Weekends

  • 1130a-800p
  • 1:00p-930p
  • 600a-230p
  • 730a-400p

Contract Length:

520 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$16 - $20 (Dependant on experience)
