Job description

Hiring Follow-Up Representatives - Medical Billing!

Location: Pennsauken or Cherry Hill, NJ
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Hybrid Schedule: Potential after 90 days (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) at the discretion of the Director/Manager.

Job Overview:
We are looking for dedicated Follow-Up Representatives to join our team! This role will involve resolving billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Remittance Advice (ERA), and the ability to follow up with insurance companies to ensure proper payments are made. If you are experienced in medical billing, have strong communication skills, and enjoy problem-solving, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and denials/rejections promptly by following company guidelines and processes.
  • Analyze and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or Remittance Advice (ERA) from insurance carriers and take appropriate action.
  • Follow up with insurance companies via phone calls or payer portals to address denied claims and outstanding payments.
  • Research payer policies and guidelines to identify trends and provide feedback to the management team.
  • Correct and resubmit claims as needed to ensure proper reimbursement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and perform data entry into internal systems.
  • Monitor accounts receivable follow-up work queues and reports to ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of medical billing follow-up experience is REQUIRED.
  • Strong knowledge of claim forms for Hospital / Physician Billing is REQUIRED.
  • Familiarity with various insurance carriers and their online portals.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, including CPT and ICD-10 codes.
