We are currently hiring a file clerk for a 6 month contract with a hospital system located in Lawrenceville, NJ! This person will be assisting the patient account team by sorting and filing mail on a daily basis.

Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm or 7:30-4pm

Description:

• File Management: Sort, organize, and maintain patient medical records in an orderly fashion, both in physical files and electronic databases.
• Data Entry: Input patient information into electronic medical record (EMR) systems accurately and ensure consistency across records.
• Document Scanning: Scan and digitize physical documents into the electronic medical record system, ensuring proper labeling and categorization.
• Record Retrieval: Retrieve and deliver requested medical records to healthcare staff in a timely manner while ensuring records are returned to the correct location.
• Record Integrity: Perform regular audits to ensure all files are complete and accurate.
• Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
• Communication: Coordinate with healthcare staff to fulfill requests for medical records and provide general assistance.
• Compliance: Follow established procedures for the retention and disposal of medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Clerical Support: Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as making copies, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

• Some medical background is preferred
• Need to be able to handle a fast paced / high volume environment.
• Medical terminology experience
• Medical front desk / patient service representative experience preferred
• Computer savvy
