Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule/Shift:

  • Mon-Wed; Fri: 8am-5pm
  • Thurs: 10am-7pm

Overview: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed independent practitioner who assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. The NP determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, and interpreting test results. Frequent communication outside of the workgroup is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements, and clarify issues/processes. The NP ensures that internal and external customers are satisfied with service.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories independently.
  • Review patient records for accuracy at each appointment.
  • Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's complaints, age-specific needs, and physical condition.
  • Conduct screening evaluations.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to adults and/or children.
  • Perform complete physical examinations and record pertinent data in the patient's medical record.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Make medical diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate health care facilities, agencies, other community resources, or other physicians.
  • Institute emergency measures and treatments or appropriate stabilization measures in emergencies such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and emergency obstetric delivery.
  • Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
  • Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients, emphasizing preventive care and disease management.
  • Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity.

General Duties:

  • Consistently and independently follow established safety and infection control procedures. Intervene in unsafe situations.
  • Comply with the standards of conduct and Corporate Responsibility Program, seeking guidance when in doubt.
  • Meet or exceed expectations of individuals for whom service is provided.
  • Participate in interdepartmental or departmental committees as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Active F-NP License in the state of Maryland.
  • 1-3 years of experience in family medicine (as an RN or NP)
  • Commitment to 24-48 hours sub/interview follow-up.

  • Eligible for Tuition Reimbursement through HRSA.
  • Sign a two-year contract and receive $50k for student loan reimbursement per contract; the contract can be renewed until loans are paid off.
