Job description

  • Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment, upon receipt of instructions and specific work assignment, and transports to designated area
  • Cleans assigned area using various types of cleaning equipment (mechanical, electrical, and battery operated) and supplies, assuring solutions are prepared according to procedure and work is performed and completed according to standards, policy, and procedures
  • Damp dusts furniture, phones, lights, counters, window sills, ceilings, fronts of cupboards, ledges, shelves, vents, ceilings, doors, door frames, pictures, TVs, windows, mirrors, dispensers, and all vertical and horizontal services
  • Scours sinks, showers, tubs, and toilets
  • Fills all dispensers with proper products such as soap and paper goods
  • Dusts and wet mops floors, vacuums carpet, spot-cleans carpets using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning
  • Collects and removes waste, sorting recycled waste and taking proper safety precautions; cleans trash cans and waste containers
  • Operates compactor, cardboard bailer, and cart washer
  • Strips, refinishes, and maintains hard floor surfaces; and shampoos and extracts carpets
  • Processes cubicles and drapes, including collection and replacement of soiled ones
  • Distributes and/or collects and removes linen from specific areas
  • Cleans equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing repairs and safety concerns
  • Maintains orderly supply work closet, returning unused supplies and cleaning carts and equipment daily
  • Notifies supervisor of needed supplies and equipment
  • Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs, to include set up and breakdown of tables and chairs
  • Assists in relocation of offices, departments, and nursing units
  • Adheres to established organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Participates in departmental and organizational education programs, both formal and informal
  • Participates in organizational and departmental quality improvement efforts
  • Stocks and distributes 2100 to 2500 lbs. of linen daily
  • Collects and removes approximately 2268 to 2700 lbs. of linen from designated areas on a daily basis
  • Contributes to the success of the organization by meeting organizational competency expectations and core values (respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration and kindness), continuously learning, and by performing other duties as needed or assigned
  • Adheres to MHS Attendance and Punctuality Policy and Procedure standards. Maintains reliable attendance
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery such as buffer, vacuum, compactor, bailer, extractor
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to be attentive to detail and to meet quality standards
  • Ability to adhere to and promote safe work practices
  • Ability and aptitude for performing repetitive tasks such as mopping, buffing, scrubbing, and polishing
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision

Pay: $18-$20/hour

Schedule: 32-40 hours a week, Monday-Sunday schedule

Location: Olympia, Washington, 98502
