Job Title: Environmental Monitoring Technician

Overview: The Environmental Monitoring Technician at a radiopharmaceutical manufacturer is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of the manufacturing facility with environmental regulations and guidelines. This role involves monitoring various environmental parameters, including air quality, water quality, and radiation levels, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine environmental monitoring activities in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  2. Perform air sampling and monitoring to assess the levels of airborne contaminants, including radioactive particles and gases.
  3. Conduct water sampling and analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for wastewater discharge and environmental protection.
  4. Monitor radiation levels in different areas of the facility using specialized equipment and instruments.
  5. Collect and analyze environmental samples using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  6. Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring data, including sampling locations, dates, and results.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring programs and protocols.
  8. Identify and report any deviations from environmental standards or safety protocols to management.
  9. Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Environmental Health & Safety, and Production, to address environmental concerns and implement corrective actions.
  10. Participate in environmental audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies or internal stakeholders.
  11. Stay informed about relevant environmental regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  12. Provide training and guidance to staff members on environmental monitoring procedures and safety protocols.
