Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Emergency Room Patient Registrar. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately registering patients who visit our busy emergency room, ensuring all necessary demographic and insurance information is collected in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to maintain professionalism and empathy while interacting with patients during stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the emergency room, collecting and verifying all necessary demographic and insurance information.
  • Accurately enter patient information into electronic medical records (EMR) system and ensure all data is up-to-date and correct.
  • Coordinate with medical staff and other departments to facilitate the patient registration process and ensure a smooth transition for patients.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, obtain necessary authorizations, and collect co-payments or other payments as required.
  • Provide assistance and answer questions for patients regarding the registration process, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Handle inquiries and requests from patients, families, and other visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve processes and enhance the overall patient experience.

Schedule Openings:

  • Full time Emergency Room - Friday, Saturday, Sunday's (9am-9:30pm)
  • Part-time Emergency Room - Monday & Tuesday 6am-4:30pm
  • Full time Outpatient - Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient registration or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy while working with patients during stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and HIPAA regulations preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $19-$22 (dependent on experience)

  • Retirement Benefits - We offer a 401K program to talent once they have been working for a minimum of 6 months. The 2 enrollment dates are 1/1 and 7/1 - enrollment can only occur on those dates.
  • Paid Sick Leave - Talent may accrue up to 10 days annually at an accrual rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
