Job description

Medix is currently partnered with a company specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced power systems for various industries. They offer a range of electric power generation and packaging solutions tailored for heavy-duty, mission-critical applications. Their product lineup includes engines with displacements from 2.0 to 65 liters, delivering power outputs up to 2 megawatts (mWe). These engines are available in multiple fuel configurations, making them suitable for emergency standby generator applications.

Their commitment to delivering dependable power solutions is evident across various markets, including oil and gas, telecommunications, office and commercial sectors, healthcare, data centers, utilities, and water treatment facilities. Their products are designed to operate effectively even in the harshest conditions, ensuring reliability and performance for critical applications

As an Electrical Assembly Technician (EMST) you'll be focusing on wiring enclosures to ensure quality control and proactively identify and resolve mechanical deficiencies. Flexibility is critical to this role as you will work across stations, product lines, and daily tasks. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to wiring, troubleshooting, training Assemblers, communicating across the organization, documenting using Lean tools and methodologies, and providing process improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics to support both electrical and mechanical assembly of power generation products.
  • Assemble electrical components such electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, plc's, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical elements
  • Use hand and power tools to ensure the electrical assembly follows standardized work instructions.
  • Test engines and generators using EOL (End-of-Line) testing for various procedures, ensuring all products meet quality standards before shipping.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to mechanical deficiencies and wiring, ensuring functionality and compliance with electrical schematics.
  • Document testing and quality procedures, submitting daily reports and updating Lean SPQRC metrics.
  • Perform audits on work instructions and processes, identifying and resolving issues across functional areas.
  • Maintain safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment, and participate in team lifts for materials over 40 pounds.
  • Support mechanical assembly tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with demonstrated electrical aptitude.
  • Proven experience in electrical assembly, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics, using digital meters, volt/ohm meters, and terminating wires.
  • Electrical systems (120/277 and 277/460 volts), National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electrical applications.
  • Experience in electrical control panel assembly, industrial panel building, and installation of electrical distribution systems (120-480 volts).
  • Ability to use hand and power tools for both electrical and mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Communicates effectively with multiple functional teams, including providing documentation, to drive results and resolution of problems.
