A hospital in Chicago is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registrar's to join their team.

This position is contract to hire (opportunity to become a permanenet employee) with a large healthcare system.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Greet incoming patients, obtain and update demographic information
• Verify patient's insurance information and collect patients payments
• Responsible for front desk coverage as well as assisting patients with registration throughout the department (room to room)
• Provide excellent customer service to patients both in person and over the phone at all times

Requirements:

• Insurance Verification experience
• Patient Registration experience
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments
• Comfortable walking (will be required to walk frequently throughout the department)
• Customer Service skills
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Available Shifts:

• 3pm-11pm Thursday-Monday (Tuesdays & Wednesdays off)

Pay: $15-19 per hour depending on experience

Length: 800 hours Contract to Hire *Opportunity to convert to permanent employee upon sucessful completion of contract period.

Sick Pay: You will receive one day of Sick Time after working 600 hours and an additional day of Sick Time for every 300 hours after. **Please note that if you're in a city/state with unique PTO requirements, the city/state's policy will override Medix's internal PTO policy.
