E&M Coder (Remote)

Job Title: E&M Coder
Contract Duration: 800 hours (Contract-to-Hire)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM MST (Flexible start time, earliest at 7:00 AM)
Training Schedule: Must align with the trainer's schedule for the first two weeks (+/- 2 hours)
Location: Remote

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled E&M Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. This role requires reviewing patient visit notes, verifying CPT codes, and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform E&M coding from patient visit notes.
  • Assign daily provider subsets and complete coding requirements.
  • Review visit notes to confirm accuracy of CPT coding.
  • Address insurance details in patient charts.
  • Maintain a productivity rate of 75 charts per day (10-14 charts per hour).
  • Ensure an error rate of 5% or lower, focusing on accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the team to assist in coding additional charts when needed.
  • Utilize eClinicalWorks EMR for coding and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • CPC Certification (Certified Professional Coder)
  • 2+ years of E&M coding experience
  • Proficiency with EMR systems

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience using eClinicalWorks
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams
  • Understanding of the full-cycle billing process
  • Medical Auditor Certification (Highly desirable)
