Job description

Title: Director of Nursing / Clinical Director
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead a home health care team in Indianapolis, IN. This key leadership role involves supervising both clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and overseeing operational efficiency. The Director of Nursing will play a pivotal role in managing clinical direction, developing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Day to Day:

  • Supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, including PTs, OTs, CNAs, RNs, schedulers, billing, and payroll.
  • Provide clinical direction, mentorship, and problem-solving to ensure quality patient care and meet competency expectations.
  • Manage the department's operations within the allocated budget and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Participate in the hiring process, conducting interviews and giving final approval for new hires.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist in staff development and training.
  • Handle escalated client issues and provide on-site support via occasional home visits.
  • Manage daily patient care coordination, medication inquiries, and address client concerns over phone calls (approx. 7 calls per hour).
  • Identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance both patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience in healthcare; prior experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) is a plus.
  • Must have an active RN license.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and problem-solve for a team.
  • Home health or long term experience.

Shift:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • No on-call or weekend shifts

Salary:

  • $80,000 - 90,000
