Requirements

Summary: The Patient Account Representative will contribute previous experience and a high level of detail to our Insurance Collections team. Responsible for managing the insurance follow-up and collections process, ensuring timely reimbursement from dialysis services rendered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

As a Patient Account Representative, you will...

  • Follow-Up on Outstanding Claims: Monitor and track outstanding claims, follow up with insurance companies to resolve issues, and ensure prompt reimbursement.
  • Appeals and Denials Management: Identify claim denials, investigate reasons for denials, and initiate appeals or re-submissions as necessary for claims to be processed and paid.
  • Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile payments received from insurance companies with billed amounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving payment variances.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities, payments, and collections. Generate reports on collections, outstanding claims, and trends for management review.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including billing, finance, and clinical staff, to resolve billing issues and streamline the collections process.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing insurance billing and collections in the healthcare industry.
  • There is a strong focus on government payers (medicaid & medicare).
  • Most of the claims / follow ups will require staff to be calling the insurance payers, not just working out of payer portals.
  • Production and quality will be measured (efficiency, effectiveness and volume), the goal is to have staff touching 65+ accounts daily.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 3+ Years of Dialysis Billing and Collections Experience
  • Quiet, Dedicated WFH Environment
  • Government (Medicare/Medicaid) Insurance Experience

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment such as: "EMR" (electronic medical record system), computer, internet, email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Work Environment: Fully remote with equipment provided. Reliable wifi and a professional working environment is required on behalf of the employee.
