Medix's client is looking for an experience Dental Insurance Billing & Collections Specialists with experience working with "Denti-Cal"/Medi-cal Dental!

Position: Insurance Billing & Collections Specialist

Must Have Skills

  • Dental Insurance Collections Experience (General Dentistry; 2 years)
  • MUST have experience with DentiCal (Medi-Cal for dentistry)
  • Quality WFH setup and prior remote experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of CDT Coding and Terminology, a plus.
  • Ability to read dental radiographs, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel a plus.
  • Knowledge of dental/medical industry and insurance plans (i.e. HMO, PPO, and Discount Plans) is strongly preferred.

Expected Shift/Hours: Monday through Friday; 8 hours a day/40 hours week

- Training will occur on PST, and the candidate should be comfortable working those hours for the first few weeks - after that, they will be able to work a different schedule. This schedule will be fixed, and they will be expected to work the same hours each day. For example, if a candidate requests to work 7am-4pm EST, that will be great, but they will be expected to work 7-4 consistently from there on out unless speaking with manager and agreeing to a change.

Overview

We are seeking an Insurance Billing & Collections Specialist. You'll be an integral part of our vision working as you collect insurance balances and trace claims.

Duties

  • Managing the workflow of assigned claims and meeting deadlines for filing to obtain maximum reimbursements
  • Monitoring claims activity for timely payment from all payers
  • Understanding and staying informed of changes with procedures, billing guidelines and laws for specific insurance carriers or payers
  • Conducting full patient account audits to determine appropriate action
  • Review accounts for major treatment requiring additional documentation. Process insurance billing for completed treatment
