Job Title: IT Governance Consultant
Position Type: Contract (6 months) with potential for hire
Hourly Rate Target: $75-$90/hr
Work Location: Hybrid (with occasional onsite work required)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Governance Consultant to support our efforts to modernize data governance across the organization. This role will focus on creating workflows, educating teams, and ensuring the organization is aligned on best practices for data governance. The ideal candidate will not only be able to "get things done" but will also work hand-in-hand with leadership to implement solutions that build purpose-driven data governance across the company.

About the Team:

Our client is in the midst of a transformation to modernize its data governance processes. The Senior Manager of Data Governance is looking for someone who can bridge the gap and support the execution of the vision, helping ensure that data governance is embraced and effectively operationalized across the business. This role will be essential in making governance a more practical, embedded function across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and refine data governance processes, workflows, and standards across the business.
  • Educate and train business teams on data governance best practices and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Establish data quality standards and help embed them into the organization's workflows.
  • Administer data cataloging processes and platforms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in data governance, providing hands-on support to teams while promoting self-sufficiency.
  • Help create training materials and content to further the data governance initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to implement sustainable data governance models that drive value for the organization.

Must Have Experience:

  • Strong experience in standing up data governance programs, including creating workflows and establishing best practices.
  • Experience administering a data catalog and understanding its role in the data governance ecosystem.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining data quality standards.
  • Ability to dive deep into data governance tasks, working through complex details to create tangible results.
  • Proven ability to educate business teams on data governance processes and standards, driving engagement and buy-in.
