Job description

One of the largest healthcare providers in Fort Worth is looking for an Patient Collections Representative. Apply if qualified and interested!

  • Contract to hire opportunity (5 months)
  • Onsite role

Working under the supervision of the Director of RCM, this position is responsible for answering incoming calls, collecting on past due balances from patients and assisting with credentialing follow up calls. Ability to deal with difficult issues in a calm, professional and results oriented manner is critical to success in this role. The Customer Service - Patient Collections role requires extensive interaction with patients and colleagues. Exceptional customer service as well as a systematic approach to resolve issues is a key skill in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Incoming and outgoing calls with patients to collect balances

  • Create and send patient statements weekly
  • Manage outside collections company reports and collections
  • Set up and manage monthly payment plans
  • Various job duties as assigned by the Billing Manager
3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
  • Education: High school or GED

  • 1 year experience in insurance or medical office with extensive customer interaction
  • Ability to define challenges, analyze problems and suggest solutions in a proactive and positive manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customer and employees of organization
  • Ability to effectively collect on past due balances
  • Experience with Microsoft office
